The address of Lower Holker Village Hall is Cark LA11 7NU. If you're coming from Haverthwaite direction (north), half a mile after passing Holker Hall, the road forks. The B5278 bends around to the right in front of a small pub car park (the pub, now closed, used to be the Rose and Crown). Take the left fork here (leaving the B5278 and going onto Bank Top) and then immediately take the first left turn, which is the walled driveway to the hall car park (free parking). Once parked, the hoop studio glass door is the first door you pass on the left as you walk between the hall and the bowling green. You can also enter via the main entrance, which is further along.

Becky Hampson was my aerial hoop instructor from the beginning. When I started hoop classes with her, despite my advanced years and lack of any relevant experience, Becky made me feel very welcome. It wouldn't have taken much to put me off, but Becky made me feel safe, included, and at home, for which I will always be hugely thankful to her.
Spin City provide excellent, very carefully designed, accredited courses in aerial fitness instruction. They provide good support for students taking their courses, and the assessments are thorough, sympathetic, and very well executed. I am very grateful to Spin City for providing me with a professional framework within which to work as an aerial hoop instructor. Special thanks go to Kate Edwards (Owner Director), Jo Maudsley (Head Assessor), and Bex Campey (Training Leader).
I took NCFE Level 2 Gym Instruction and NCFE Level 3 Personal Trainer certificates at Kendal College in 2017-2018 as an evening class. The classes and assessments were very interesting and useful, and I was made very welcome and comfortable, despite being old enough to be the mother of the other students, and despite not being a gym bunny. Special thanks to tutor James Saxon who has extraordinary people skills and great professional knowledge and expertise.
Lower Holker Village Hall is in Cark-in-Cartmel near Grange-Over-Sands. It has been open for over a hundred years and is well used by the local community. The kind hall personnel made Outoftheblue very welcome when I was suddenly in desperate need of an additional venue. The room we use is cosy and very popular with the clients. You can see the sea from the windows, and lovely sunsets in autumn and winter.
Thank you, Rhona, Paul, and everyone at the hall for having us and looking after us.
We are very grateful.
When I moved to Cumbria I couldn't find an aerial hoop class near me so I looked for somewhere I could hang my hoop and practise alone. Westmorland CrossFit in Kendal town centre came to my rescue with a great space and open minds. I don't think they had seen aerial hoop before I turned up. They were soon welcoming Outoftheblue aerial hoop classes into their newly refurbished functional gym area. It's a lovely big space with masses of light. Thank you so much, Liam Dobson and Lisa Screen.
