Lower Holker Village Hall is also known as 'Cark Village Hall'. The hall is down a track (mind the bumps) behind the Rose and Crown pub in Cark near Grange-Over-Sands. If you're coming from the Haverthwaite direction (north), the Rose and Crown will be on your left on a hill bending around to the left. You turn left immediately before the pub and then take the first left, which is the track to the hall. The external doors of the village hall are next to the bowling green.

Westmorland CrossFit is a gym in Kendal town centre. It is walking distance from the main shops. By car from Aynam Rd, turn left into Castle Mills complex, go past The Tap (ale house) on your right, keep going until the courtyard car park. The car park is free for gym customers but please note that spaces are limited.

Becky Hampson has been my aerial hoop instructor from the beginning. When I started hoop classes with her, despite my advanced years and lack of any relevant experience, Becky made me feel very welcome. It wouldn't have taken much to put me off, but Becky made me feel safe, included, and at home, for which I will always be hugely thankful to her. Becky teaches in Congleton, Lowton and Westhoughton.
Spin City provide excellent, very carefully designed, accredited courses in aerial fitness instruction. They provide good support for students taking their courses, and the assessments are thorough, sympathetic, and very well executed. I am very grateful to Spin City for providing me with a professional framework within which to work as an aerial hoop instructor. Special thanks go to Kate Edwards (Owner Director), Jo Maudsley (Head Assessor), and Becky Campey (Training Leader).
I took NCFE Level 2 Gym Instruction and NCFE Level 3 Personal Trainer certificates at Kendal College in 2017-2018 as an evening class. The classes and assessments were very interesting and useful, and I was made very welcome and comfortable, despite being old enough to be the mother of the other students, and despite not being a gym bunny. Special thanks to tutor James Saxon who has extraordinary people skills and great professional knowledge and expertise.
The Bendrigg Trust is a residential centre that provides outdoor activity courses for disabled and disadvantaged people. Bendrigg has some wonderful facilities and expertise and they have opened their doors and hearts to allow Outoftheblue to hold classes in their sports hall. Bendrigg celebrated its 40th year in 2018, the year Outoftheblue opened. We are privileged to have this chance to dance in such a special place. The sports hall ceiling is 8 metres high. Oooh what a circus-y feeling. Thank you, Bendrigg and Dave Hollingham in particular.
Lower Holker Village Hall is in Cark-in-Cartmel near Grange-Over-Sands. It has been open for over a hundred years and is well used by the local community. The kind hall personnel made Outoftheblue very welcome when I was suddenly in desperate need of an additional venue. The room we use is cosy and very popular with the clients. You can see the sea from the windows, and lovely sunsets in autumn and winter.
Thank you, Rhona, Mark, and everyone at the hall for having us and looking after us.
We are very grateful.
When I moved to Cumbria I couldn't find an aerial hoop class near me so I looked for somewhere I could hang my hoop and practise alone. Westmorland CrossFit in Kendal town centre came to my rescue with a great space and open minds. I don't think they had seen aerial hoop before I turned up. Now they are welcoming Outoftheblue aerial hoop classes into their newly refurbished functional gym area. It's a lovely big space with masses of light. Thank you so much, Liam Dobson and Lisa Screen.
